Scales and Arpeggios
Scale manual presented in three main sections. The first deals with two-octave scales, arpeggios, dominant sevenths and diminished sevents, and one-octave scales in thirds, sixths, and octaves. It is designed as an introduction to and preparation for the three-octave system, but avoids the more remote keys. The second section includes the complete range of three-octave scales, arpeggios, dominant sevenths and diminished sevenths, as well as a comprehensive study of double-stopping, harmonics and left-hand pizzicato. The third section deals with four-octave scales, arpeggios, dominant sevenths and deminished sevenths up to B. These will encourage and develop a confident facility in the upper registers of the violin.
