Herbert Wanka studied bow making with Emanuel Schuster in the workshop for apprentices in instrument making in Bubenreuth. He then worked in Schuster's Bubenreuth workshop when he graduated. Mr Wanka did his Masters exam in 1968 (HWK Nuremberg) and set up his own shop in 1971. He currently works in Baiersdorf, Germany with his son Christian.
